The coffeehouse culture is very important in Vienna. We love coffee, no matter what time of the day or night. Now, there are even coffee menus in many coffeehouses so that you can get an overview of the different variations. Even larger than the choice of coffee is the number of coffeehouses. Besides the traditional coffeehouses, more and more modern coffeehouses spring up everywhere in the city. Away from the traditional coffeehouses, more and more modern cafes are emerging in the city. Especially in the Spittelberg area around Hotel ViennArt a lot has happened! Our coffeehouse discoveries:
Located directly at Ulrichsplatz, just a 5-minute walk from Hotel ViennArt, it is a place where you can enjoy coffee and read newspapers. The coffeehouse is modern and comfortably furnished and the garden offers a great opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for some time.

Not only the coffee tastes great here, but also the ambience is again and again a surprise. The furniture you are sitting on is available for sale and can be taken with you if required. Therefore, it could easily be that the coffeehouse shines like new the next day. A coffee house with some charm!

Restaurant, coffeehouse, and bar in one and, moreover, also event location for music performances and literature readings. The coffeehouse is timelessly modern and offers the perfect opportunity to observe the hustle and bustle in the street from both inside (great glass front facing the street) and outside. You will find a varied cuisine here, whether coffee, small dishes, or main dishes, that makes early and late risers as well as night owls equally happy. Warm dishes are available from 09:00 – 04:00!
Tip: Dumplings with egg and fresh lettuce – simply good!

To this day, still not much indicates that one is in front of a cafe. You will be looking for a nameplate in vain, and there is also no website (yet). If you do dare to go inside, you will be rewarded. You might think at first that the coffeehouse is in some kind of renovation phase, but that is exactly that ambiance that makes the place very cozy and special. Furniture from different eras and periods and the indirect lighting invite you to relax with a cup of coffee and some homemade cake. There is also great lounge music.
Tip: Check our cabinet and see if the homemade cheese cake is available. Scrumptious!

Actually the term cafe is not quite appropriate. It is rather a cultural center where events of all kinds (art, literature, politics, music) take place on a regular basis. The location is perfect for such events – right next to Spittelberg in Siebensterngasse and only a few steps from Mariahilfer Straße, you can meet here for a fast cup of coffee or sit down for an extended meal. There is enough to see, both inside and outside you can suck in and enjoy the Spittelberg flair here.
Tip: Sip a Chunky Monkey Smoothie at the comfortable window sill (with a booth seat and cuddly cushion).

Pure Living Bakery

Casual and cozy best describe the feeling you get when approaching the US-inspired coffeehouse in a shabby chic style. You will look for Gugelhupf (ring cake) and Sacher cake in vain – instead you can have a look at the cabinet and make your mouth water by all the bagels, brownies, cheesecake variations, and homemade cookies. The coffee beans are from the Elbgold private roasting house in Hamburg and the coffees are lovingly prepared by specially trained baristas. Pure living room feeling for relaxing and feeling good!
Info: Each coffee is decorated with different (animal) motifs and shall conjure a smile on the lips of the coffee drinker.
Tip: The freshly baked waffle (with various toppings to choose from) is amazing!

The central location and the informal ambiance of the coffeehouse invite you to stay. In the evening, delicious cocktails will be served as well (happy hour from 18:00 to 19:00 and from 22:00) and you will hear pleasant lounge music.
